How it works
How to eject water from a phone speaker: choose a mode, let sound work.
No cotton swabs, no rice, no hair dryer. A controlled sound cycle makes the speaker membrane do the pushing.
Pick a mode and lay it face down
Choose Water Eject or Dust Clean, a mode and a duration (60 seconds by default). When Wring detects the phone face down, a 3-second countdown starts, or tap Start now.
Let the cycle run
Volume goes to 100% for the cycle and returns to your previous level afterwards. On compatible phones, choose the top, bottom or both speakers. Automatic volume and vibration can each be turned off in Settings.
Check the sound, repeat if needed
After the cycle, play familiar audio or use Speaker Test. Still muffled? Run another cycle; a soaked grille sometimes needs two.

Why it works
How water eject works: sound is a pump.
A speaker is a membrane. Drive it hard at low frequencies and it moves the air in the grille back and forth, enough to break the surface tension holding droplets in the mesh and push them out. Apple Watch does the same thing after a swim.

Does it actually get the water out?
For water sitting in the speaker grille — after a shower, rain, a pool, a sink — yes, that is exactly what the cycle is built for, and most phones sound clear after one run. It cannot dry water that has gone inside the phone; if the phone was submerged, power it off, let it dry, and see a repair shop.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
Free includes 1 cleaning cycle per week, shared between water and dust, plus up to 3 extra cleaning cycles a day for watching ads. Rewarded ads do not add uses of the sound tools. The week starts on Monday in local time; a cleaning cycle is counted when it starts. All sound tools are free with ads. When the allowance ends, choose Pro or the daily rewarded cycle. From 1.2.1, ✕ or Free version closes the plans screen at onboarding and each Free launch. Pro is unlimited and ad-free, with Apple Watch, Siri, Shortcuts and widgets on compatible Apple platforms, not Android. Choose Weekly, Yearly or one-time Lifetime in App Store or Google Play; stores show local prices. No trial or introductory price is currently offered. In the native app, Speaker Test, Tone Generator and dB Meter each allow one Free use per week, from Play to Stop; they reset on Monday in local time. Ads grant only an extra cleaning cycle, not extra tool uses. If a tool has been used this week, choose Pro or wait until Monday. Pro includes unlimited cleaning cycles and sound tools, without ads.
How soon should I run it?
As soon as you notice the muffled sound. Water that sits in the mesh dries into mineral spots that dull the speaker for good. Wipe the outside, put the phone face down, start the cycle.
Which modes are there?
Water Eject has Pulse (short low-frequency pulses), Wave (smooth sweeps) and Deep (a combination of pulses and sweeps), within 100–1500 Hz. Dust Clean has Shake, Buzz and Sweep.
How long does a cycle take?
Choose 30, 60 or 90 seconds for both Water Eject and Dust Clean; 60 seconds is the default. When the phone is detected face down, a 3-second countdown starts, or tap Start now.
Is it safe for my speaker? It's loud.
The cycle uses audible frequencies at the speaker's normal playback level. No ultrasound, no overdriving. Volume goes to 100% for the cycle and your previous level comes back afterwards; automatic volume and vibration can each be turned off in Settings. Keep the phone away from your ear while it runs.
Still muffled after a cycle?
After a cycle, play familiar audio or use Speaker Test. If the sound is still muffled, run the cycle again; a soaked grille sometimes needs two rounds. Speaker Test lets you play compatible speakers separately or together, and the bass track helps reveal rattles.
Can I choose the top or bottom speaker?
On compatible phones you can choose the top, bottom or both speakers. Some devices route sound differently, so selection is not available everywhere.
Does it work on iPad?
iPad supports the sound features. Upper or lower speaker selection is not guaranteed on iPad, because speaker layouts differ from phones. The Apple Watch app is for iPhone.
Do I need an internet connection?
Purchases, restoring purchases and ads, including the rewarded ad for an extra daily cycle, need an internet connection. The sound tools themselves, including cycles, speaker test, tone generator and dB meter, work offline.
What happens to my data?
Sound is measured live on device, never recorded; meter photos are processed on device. Your optional onboarding answer goes to RevenueCat. Free uses Google AdMob on iPhone, iPad and Android. IDFA requires ATT permission; the Android advertising ID can be reset or deleted in device settings. In the EU, UK and Switzerland, change advertising consent in app settings. See the Privacy Policy.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Manage or cancel App Store subscriptions through Apple in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions; request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com. Manage Google Play subscriptions in Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions; request refunds through Google Play Help. Restore purchases with the same store account on compatible devices of the same platform.
Does Wring include a tone generator?
